Iran Attack On US Base In Kuwait More Severe Than Initially Reported- Sources

The Iranian drone attack on a U.S. tactical operations center in Shuaiba Port, Kuwait, on March 1 has proven more severe than initially reported. CBS News sources revealed that over 30 American soldiers were hospitalized, with 20 requiring urgent care for brain injuries, shrapnel trauma, and burns.

Six U.S. military personnel died in the strike, which occurred a day after a joint U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran. The attack left a chaotic scene, with soldiers transported to medical facilities including Landstuhl in Germany, Walter Reed in Washington, and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Of the 25 soldiers hospitalized in Germany, 20 were classified as having “urgent” injuries, including concussions, memory loss, and traumatic brain injuries. The severity of the damage highlights the dangerous escalation following recent U.S.-Israeli operations.

The U.S. Defense Department initially reported only five serious injuries, with several minor casualties. Updated information now confirms a broader impact on American forces, underscoring rising tensions in the Gulf region.
