Nigerian singer Timaya has stirred debate after advising young people not to focus on marriage. In a viral video, the artist suggested that having children may be more important than getting married.

Timaya made the remark while spending time with fellow musicians Peter Okoye and Phyno. In the clip, he said that marriage often does not work, encouraging men to focus on raising children instead.

The singer has previously expressed similar views about marriage. In 2022, he hinted on social media that he might never marry, saying he admired the lifestyle of Jesus, who never got married.

Despite his stance on marriage, Timaya is a father of four children from three different women and continues to speak openly about relationships and family life.
