Iran, Hezbollah unleash coordinated cluster bomb strikes on Israel

Iran and Hezbollah reportedly launched coordinated strikes against Israel using cluster munitions, according to Israeli officials and security analysts. The attacks occurred during the 11th day of the ongoing military campaign involving the United States and Israel targeting Iranian positions.

Reports indicate that the missiles carried cluster warheads that split in the air and released smaller bomblets across wide areas. Analysts say this type of weapon makes interception more difficult and can increase the level of destruction on the ground.

Despite Israel’s advanced missile defense systems, several of the incoming rockets were reportedly harder to stop due to the nature of the cluster munitions. The attacks are seen as a possible escalation in the growing conflict across the region.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed launching retaliatory airstrikes on Hezbollah-linked targets in Beirut’s southern suburbs, particularly in the Dahiyeh area. The military said the strikes were aimed at infrastructure connected to Hezbollah operations.
