Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to swear in five commissioner-designates on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The nominees have been screened and confirmed by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, starting at 1:00 pm. Each commissioner-designate is allowed to bring one guest, with seating scheduled from 12:30 pm.
The commissioner-designates include Mr. Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Mr. Lekue Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart. The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Dagogo Wokoma, issued a statement detailing the arrangements.
Earlier, the Assembly had stepped down four of the nine nominees initially submitted by the governor for screening and confirmation. The swearing-in marks the completion of the selection process for the new cabinet members.
