A Lagos woman has died while six others were injured after a commercial Volkswagen bus veered off course at New Castle Bus Stop, Gbagada, along the Oworonsoki-Apapa Expressway. The bus reportedly rammed a roadside culvert, ejecting the female passenger onto the expressway.

Tragically, an oncoming articulated truck ran over the woman, leading to her immediate death. Six other bus occupants, including the driver, sustained serious injuries, with some suffering multiple fractures.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the incident, noting that the bus lost control over the weekend. Lagos State Ambulance Service personnel promptly evacuated the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities from the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit removed the deceased’s remains from the scene. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and ensure road safety in the area.
