Operatives of the Anambra security outfit Agunechemba Security Outfit have come under heavy criticism after a video surfaced online showing a tricycle rider being allegedly beaten in Awka. The incident reportedly occurred at Y Junction, Okpuno, after the rider refused to give the operatives N200.

The video was shared by a Facebook user, Amaka Nwada Ebenebe, who claimed she witnessed the event. According to her, the rider was attacked simply because he refused to pay the small amount demanded by the officers, sparking anger among people who saw the footage.

Amaka said she tried to intervene and plead with the officers to release the rider. The clip shows bystanders reacting to the incident, raising concerns about alleged harassment and mistreatment of residents by security personnel.

However, the spokesperson of the agency, Nweke Nweke, dismissed the claim, saying the video was old and had been addressed previously. He stated that the officers involved were already sanctioned, although the woman who posted the video insisted the incident happened recently.
