First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu Urges Nigerians To Drop ‘Entitlement Mentality’

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to abandon what she described as an “entitlement mentality” and instead embrace responsibility and service to the nation. She made the remark while hosting an interfaith breaking of fast gathering for women from different parts of the country.

According to a statement signed by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the event brought together women observing both Ramadan and Lent. The First Lady said the coincidence of the two religious seasons sends a strong message of unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

Mrs. Tinubu also spoke about religious tolerance, noting that Nigerians have historically lived peacefully despite differences in faith. She shared her personal experience, saying her decades-long marriage with Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been built on mutual respect and understanding.

She further encouraged women in leadership positions or those married to public officials to support responsible governance. The First Lady also stressed the importance of mentoring younger generations so they can grow with strong values and integrity.
