Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that Middle Eastern partners have requested Ukraine’s expertise in countering Iranian “Shahed” drone attacks on civilians. He said Ukraine is ready to provide support if representatives arrive.
Zelenskyy shared the update on X, highlighting that strikes by Iranian Shahed drones have targeted countries in the region, prompting allies to seek Ukrainian guidance.
The United States and Gulf nations are reportedly exploring the use of Ukrainian interceptor drones to defend against mass Shahed attacks, drawing on Ukraine’s experience in drone warfare.
Since Russia’s invasion, Tehran-made Shahed drones have been widely used against Ukraine, while Iran has also deployed them in response to US-Israeli strikes on its territory.
