“US will ‘bitterly regret’ sinking our ship”- Iran vows revenge

Iran has warned that the United States will “bitterly regret” sinking one of its naval ships during the ongoing conflict. Iranian officials described the attack as a serious escalation and accused Washington of carrying out an unjustified strike in international waters.

The warship, identified as the frigate IRIS Dena, was reportedly struck by a torpedo fired from a US submarine while sailing in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka. Iranian authorities said the vessel had recently taken part in a naval exercise before the attack occurred.

Iran’s Foreign Minister strongly condemned the strike, calling it an “atrocity at sea.” He warned that the United States had set a dangerous precedent and would face consequences for sinking the vessel without warning.

Rescue teams recovered dozens of sailors after the explosion, but many casualties were reported. The incident has sharply increased tensions between Iran and the United States, raising fears that the conflict in the region could widen further.
