Lawal Batagarawa, a senior member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, should be treated fairly like any Nigerian. He made the comments on Thursday during an interview on Trust TV regarding phone-tapping allegations against El-Rufai.
Batagarawa emphasized that no statement or allegation should be considered proof of guilt. He said judgments must be left to competent courts, underlining the principle of due process.
He insisted that El-Rufai is entitled to full legal protection, stressing that fairness, transparency, and adherence to proper procedures are essential in handling the case.
The ADC chieftain urged authorities and the public to ensure that El-Rufai’s rights are respected throughout the investigation and any legal proceedings that follow.
