A Civil Defence officer has been arrested for alleged involvement in a series of car snatchings in the Orozo area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The arrest follows a spike in reported vehicle thefts and a coordinated security operation.

Authorities say the officer was linked to multiple car theft cases after intelligence-led surveillance and tracking led to his apprehension. The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Officials assured the public that a thorough probe will be conducted and that anyone found guilty, regardless of their position, will face prosecution under the law.

Community leaders in Orozo welcomed the arrest, calling it a step toward restoring safety and urging residents to continue cooperating with security agencies to fight crime.
