The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said President Bola Tinubu desires an FCT minister who actively engages with residents rather than one who only sits in the office. He made the remark during a Thank You Visit to stakeholders in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) following the February 21 Area Council elections.
Wike urged residents not to be deceived by politicians who disappear after elections and stressed that agreements made with citizens must be honored. He emphasized the importance of a minister who listens to the people’s needs and takes action.
“President Tinubu wants an FCT minister who interacts with the people, understands their concerns, and does not remain confined to offices,” Wike said, highlighting the administration’s commitment to responsive governance.
He also expressed gratitude to the AMAC residents for supporting Tinubu’s agenda, reaffirming the government’s focus on transparency, accountability, and community engagement.
