PDP not dead in Ekiti, Oluyede’s name will appear on ballot – Lanre Fajuyi

The Southwest Zonal Ex-Officio of the PDP, Lanre Fajuyi, has insisted that the party remains active in Ekiti State ahead of the June 2026 governorship election. She dismissed claims that the party had collapsed after issues surrounding its status with INEC. Fajuyi assured supporters that the PDP candidate, Wole Oluyede, will appear on the ballot paper.

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during a food distribution programme under the BOFF Foodbank initiative, she said the PDP is functioning from ward to national level. According to her, a recent court judgment recognizing Tanimu Turaki as National Chairman has settled internal disputes. She maintained that there is no division within the party.

Fajuyi expressed confidence that Oluyede will contest and win the governorship election. She described the PDP as the only dependable party capable of rescuing Ekiti residents from the ruling APC. Party leaders at the local level also backed her position, saying the PDP remains firmly in the race.

She added that the food distribution was meant to support Muslim members during Ramadan and promote unity among members of different faiths. Beneficiaries appreciated the gesture, saying it would ease their burden during the fasting period.
