France has announced it is prepared to help Gulf countries and Jordan defend themselves as missile and drone attacks linked to Iran continue across the region. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Paris stands in full solidarity with nations affected by the escalating violence.
Iran has reportedly launched strikes targeting US military bases in response to recent US-Israeli attacks. Countries named by France include Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan.
Barrot said France could act under existing defence agreements and international law if support is requested. He also noted that about 400,000 French citizens are currently in Gulf states, raising security concerns.
France, Germany, and the UK issued a joint statement condemning the attacks and expressing readiness to support defensive measures. Meanwhile, fresh explosions were reported in cities such as Dubai, Doha, and Manama as tensions grow.
