The APC remains the dominant party ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections, according to party chairman Nentawe Yilwatda. He dismissed claims that the new Electoral Act gives the party unfair advantages, noting it applies to all political parties equally.
Yilwatda highlighted the recent defections from opposition parties, calling them both legitimate and politically rational as former parties face declining influence. He said many politicians joined APC because of its strong organization and management.
The APC’s unity, governance style, and mobilization strategies make it the preferred platform for politicians and voters, Yilwatda added. He emphasized that voters value good governance, transparency, and effective party management when choosing their political options.
As cross-party defections continue, discussions about electoral reforms and the 2027 elections intensify. Yilwatda’s comments reinforce APC’s confidence in maintaining its competitive edge in Nigeria’s political landscape.
