Russia has strongly criticised the recent attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel. In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry described the strikes as a planned and unjustified act against a sovereign UN member state. Moscow called for an immediate ceasefire and a return to diplomatic dialogue.
Russian officials argued that the actions could worsen instability across the Middle East. They warned that continued military confrontation may trigger humanitarian and economic crises in the region. The ministry also urged the global community to assess the situation objectively.
Former Russian president and current Security Council deputy chairman, Dmitry Medvedev, accused Washington of using nuclear negotiations as a cover before launching operations. He claimed the escalation risks further destabilising an already tense region.
Moscow said it remains open to helping mediate peace talks. However, it placed responsibility for the growing crisis on the US and Israel, insisting that diplomacy is the only way to prevent broader conflict.
