The Nigerian Government has issued an urgent safety advisory to its citizens in Iran and neighbouring Gulf states amid escalating military tensions following US and Israeli airstrikes and Iran’s retaliatory actions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Nigerians to stay alert, avoid areas near military or government installations, limit non-essential travel, and follow instructions from local authorities to ensure safety. Citizens were also advised to stay informed via credible news sources and maintain contact with Nigerian embassies in Tehran, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
The advisory emphasized the importance of vigilance, compliance with safety protocols, and monitoring official updates from both host country authorities and the Nigerian government, assuring that consular support remains active.
The Ministry also called for restraint from all parties involved and stressed diplomatic engagement to maintain regional stability and global peace, reinforcing that the welfare of Nigerians abroad remains a top priority.
