Former US President Bill Clinton has told lawmakers he had no knowledge of the crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking during a closed-door deposition before the United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, Clinton said he neither saw nor suspected any wrongdoing and ended contact long before the allegations became public.

In his statement, Clinton stressed that he would never have associated with Epstein if he had known about the abuse. He said he would have reported any criminal conduct immediately. The testimony is part of a broader congressional review into Epstein’s network and activities.

The committee confirmed that transcripts and video recordings will be released after the private session concludes. Committee chairman James Comer said Clinton answered questions from both Republican and Democratic members for several hours.

Clinton had earlier declined to appear but later agreed after facing the possibility of contempt proceedings. His name appears in previously released Justice Department files related to Epstein, though he maintains he had no involvement in any illegal acts.
