Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has confirmed that he submitted a list of demands to the Nigeria Football Federation during contract talks. The coach, who led Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, said the leaked document circulating online is genuine.
Reports had claimed Chelle requested a monthly salary of $130,000 along with improved working conditions. Speaking in an interview, he clarified that the figure was in dollars, not euros, as earlier speculated.
Chelle also explained that the proposed amount would cover the salaries of his entire technical crew, not just his personal earnings. He questioned how the confidential document was leaked to the media.
The coach maintained that his requests were aimed at strengthening the team’s structure and performance. Negotiations with the relevant sports authorities are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
