At least 18 people were killed in a Boko Haram attack on a community in Madagali, Adamawa State. The insurgents reportedly struck in the early hours, targeting residents and causing widespread panic.
Survivors said the attackers arrived in large numbers, burning homes and looting properties before fleeing. Security forces were deployed to the area, but residents said the response came after the assailants had left.
Local authorities confirmed the death toll and warned communities to remain vigilant. They also promised to strengthen security measures in Madagali and surrounding areas to prevent further attacks.
The attack adds to a rising number of violent incidents in Adamawa, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by Boko Haram to civilians in the region.
