Peter Obi is problem to Edo politics – Afegbua

Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Kassim Afegbua, has described former presidential candidate Peter Obi as a destabilising influence in Edo politics. He made the statement during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television while reacting to a recent incident in Benin City.

Afegbua alleged that political tension often follows Obi’s involvement in any party, claiming that crises tend to arise wherever he belongs. He insisted that Obi’s presence in Edo has coincided with political disagreements and unrest.

The commissioner also dismissed claims that Obi’s visit to Edo was unusual. He noted that other governors and prominent political figures have visited the state for events without similar controversies.

His remarks come amid heated debates over the disruption of a recent political gathering in Benin, as stakeholders continue to trade accusations over what happened.
