A United States-based health organisation, QANTUS Medical Foundation, has partnered with the Abia State Government to train health workers across the state. The Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, disclosed this during a media briefing in Umuahia.
Kanu explained that the training will cover all categories of healthcare workers. The goal is to strengthen professional skills and promote best practices in healthcare service delivery across Abia State.
He added that the collaboration has received the governor’s approval and is part of broader efforts to improve healthcare standards. The initiative is expected to enhance capacity building and ensure quality medical services for residents.
The state government believes the partnership will help modernise the health sector and create lasting improvements in patient care, while supporting continuous professional development for medical personnel.
