President Bola Tinubu has hosted leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting, held alongside governors under the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), took place at the State House Banquet Hall.
Tinubu served as Special Guest of Honour at the high-level summit, which aimed to improve dialogue between the federal government, state governors, and organised labour. The engagement comes amid economic challenges and growing political discussions ahead of 2027.
The invitation to labour leaders is seen as a move to strengthen communication and foster cooperation on national issues. Organisers said the summit seeks to promote inclusive governance and ensure workers’ interests are reflected in development policies.
Observers believe the meeting could help reduce tensions and build consensus on reforms affecting Nigerian workers. It also signals efforts to align governance priorities with labour expectations in the coming political cycle.
