The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission says its recent reforms are aimed at improving standards and strengthening public secondary education across the state. Chairman Biodun Sanyaolu explained that the changes support the development goals of Governor Dapo Abiodun and are designed to modernize the system for better results.
Speaking at a leadership workshop in Abeokuta, Sanyaolu said the commission has entered one of its most significant transformation phases. The two-day event gathered about 500 principals, vice principals, and teachers to promote unity, stronger leadership, and better school management practices statewide.
He noted that a structured teacher redistribution policy has begun to correct long-standing staffing imbalances. According to him, some schools had excess staff while others struggled with shortages because teachers remained in one location for many years, affecting fairness and performance.
A former Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Olukayode Oyesiku, represented by Bayo Akinsanya, praised the initiative. He said unified leadership among educators would positively influence students, communities, and overall educational progress in the state
