Nigeria’s Super Eagles will begin preparations on March 24 for a four-nation invitational tournament scheduled to take place in Jordan. The training camp is expected to assemble key players and coaching staff ahead of the competition, which serves as part of the team’s build-up plans for upcoming international fixtures.
The three-time African champions are set to face Iran national football team and hosts Jordan national football team during the mini-tournament. Their opening match will be played against Iran on March 27 at the Amman International Stadium, a venue with a capacity of about 17,000 spectators.
Head coach Eric Chelle is expected to use the tournament to test tactics and assess player form. The team will then face Jordan four days after the first match, giving the technical crew a chance to rotate the squad and evaluate combinations.
The friendly competition is seen as important preparation for qualification matches for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027. Nigeria’s last outing was against Egypt national football team in the bronze-medal clash at AFCON 2025, and the upcoming games are expected to sharpen the squad.
