2027: Enugu govt fixes N150m fee for political campaign advertising

The Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency has set a ₦150 million permit fee for political parties and candidates planning campaign adverts ahead of the 2026 and 2027 elections. The directive applies to all aspirants seeking to promote their campaigns across the state.

The agency’s General Manager, Francis Aninwike, said the rule aligns with the agency’s legal duty to regulate outdoor advertising in all 17 local government areas. He explained that the permit grants approval for rallies, billboards, branded items, and other visual campaign materials.

According to the announcement, no candidate, party, or support group can mount posters, banners, or billboards without first securing clearance through authorised advertising practitioners. The payment must be made directly into the state government’s official account.

Officials said the measure is meant to organise campaign visibility, maintain environmental order, and ensure compliance with advertising laws. Authorities also warned that violators risk sanctions if they display campaign materials without approval.
