The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Mohammed Kasim of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Gwagwalada Area Council chairmanship election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Announcing the results, INEC confirmed that Kasim secured a total of 22,165 votes to emerge victorious in the keenly contested poll.
According to the final tally released by the Commission, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 22,165 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 17,788 votes.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) received 1,687 votes, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured 1,336 votes.
With the declaration, Mohammed Kasim has been returned elected as Chairman of the Gwagwalada Area Council.
