Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu has released a 25-player squad for upcoming friendlies against Cameroon, but star striker Asisat Oshoala was left out. The announcement has drawn attention because she is one of Nigeria’s most recognised players.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, Ashleigh Plumptre and Michelle Alozie headline the list. Experienced names like Osinachi Ohale and Halimat Ayinde also made the cut, alongside several younger talents hoping to impress.

The two matches will be played in Yaounde next week Saturday and on March 3. The games are part of preparations for the WAFCON 2026, where Nigeria will face Malawi, Zambia and Egypt in Group C.

Madugu appears focused on testing combinations and depth before the tournament. The friendlies will help the technical crew assess form, tactics and fitness as the team builds toward continental competition.
