The Edo State Security Outfit has arrested a man impersonating a soldier and a serving police constable for possession of drugs and firearms. The operation was carried out during a joint patrol in Benin City.

Authorities recovered illegal substances, firearms, and military uniforms from the suspects. The fake soldier reportedly used the uniform to commit crimes and intimidate residents.

The police constable allegedly collaborated in criminal activities, raising concerns about integrity within security agencies. Both suspects are now in custody pending further investigation.

The Edo security agencies urged residents to report suspicious activities and assured the public that law enforcement would continue to clamp down on crime and impersonation.
