The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a planned maintenance exercise at the Niger Substation, warning residents and businesses to expect short power interruptions. The company said the work is necessary to improve network efficiency and prevent unexpected system faults.
According to officials, the temporary outage will affect some communities connected to the substation while engineers carry out technical servicing. They explained that the exercise is part of routine upgrades aimed at strengthening electricity supply and ensuring safer operations.
The agency appealed to customers to remain patient during the maintenance period, assuring that power will be restored as soon as work is completed. It also stressed that such scheduled repairs help reduce sudden blackouts and long-term equipment damage.
Authorities added that technical teams will monitor the process closely to minimise downtime. Consumers were advised to switch off sensitive appliances during the period to avoid damage when electricity is restored.
