Titus Zam has clarified that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is not a member of the NCDC committee, following a tense exchange that reportedly took place in his office. The lawmaker made the statement to clear confusion surrounding the incident and to explain the circumstances that led to the disagreement between both legislators.
According to Zam, the issue arose from a misunderstanding about committee roles and access to official proceedings. He emphasized that committee membership is formally determined and documented, noting that only designated lawmakers can participate in specific sessions or activities. He added that his explanation was not meant to provoke tension but to restate procedural facts.
The clarification comes shortly after reports circulated about a heated confrontation between the two senators. Witnesses said the disagreement quickly became intense, drawing attention from others nearby. The situation sparked public reactions online, with many calling for calm and professionalism among elected officials.
Zam concluded by urging colleagues to prioritize cooperation and respect within the legislature, stressing that unity is necessary for effective governance. He also expressed hope that the matter would not distract from legislative duties or ongoing national assignments.
