Former Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe has reportedly been arrested at Luton Airport in connection with an alleged assault case. The 30-year-old footballer, who previously represented England at Under-21 level, was taken into custody after arriving in the United Kingdom from Bulgaria. According to reports, the charge relates to an incident said to have occurred in mid-December 2025.
A police spokesperson confirmed that Ibe has been charged with actual bodily harm. The alleged offence is linked to an incident dated December 14, 2025. He was arrested on January 30 upon landing at Luton Airport and later released on bail. Reports indicate that he is scheduled to appear before Croydon Magistrates’ Court on March 6.
Ibe currently plays for Bulgarian club Lokomotiv Sofia, which he joined in November after a brief spell with Sittingbourne Town in England’s lower divisions. The move marked another chapter in a career that has seen him play for several clubs across different leagues. Despite joining Lokomotiv Sofia, he is yet to make his competitive debut for the team.
Earlier in his career, Ibe secured a high-profile transfer from Liverpool FC to AFC Bournemouth in 2016 for a reported club-record fee at the time. In 2021, he publicly spoke about battling depression for several years. His latest move abroad was seen by many as an effort to rebuild his football journey. The legal matter is now expected to proceed through the courts in the coming weeks.
