American rapper and streamer DDG is trending after revealing a personal guideline he follows when it comes to buying gifts for women.

In an interview with Complex, DDG shared that he does not purchase gifts for a romantic partner unless he has already given something similar—or more meaningful—to his mother. “It just feels wrong otherwise,” he explained.

The rapper, often perceived as a big spender, clarified that he maintains strict boundaries in his relationships.

He noted that before ever buying a luxury watch for a girlfriend, he had already gifted one to his mother—a principle that also applies to larger purchases, such as cars.

While DDG is willing to spend on dates, he draws a line at paying a partner’s rent or buying a house solely for them. He said the only exception would be a home they both share.

DDG previously dated singer and actress Halle Bailey, with whom he shares a young son.
