The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has reacted strongly to reports linking it to terrorism, saying it is shocked by what it described as profiling by members of the United States Congress. The group stated that it has no connection with any terrorist activities and rejected the allegations in clear terms.
In a public response, the association said it operates as a lawful organization representing cattle breeders across Nigeria. According to its leaders, branding the group as linked to terrorism is unfair and damaging. They insisted that such claims could worsen tensions and create further misunderstanding about their activities.
Miyetti Allah maintained that it has always promoted peaceful coexistence between herders and host communities. The group called for proper investigation and dialogue instead of what it sees as broad generalizations. It also urged relevant authorities to verify information before making statements that could affect its reputation.
The development has sparked reactions in political and security circles, as discussions continue over insecurity in parts of Nigeria. While the US Congress has raised concerns in its profiling, Miyetti Allah says it remains committed to lawful engagement and denies any involvement in violent acts.
