Supporters in Europe have accused FIFA of a “monumental betrayal” in response to its ticket pricing policies.
In an attempt to address concerns, FIFA introduced a limited allocation of $60 tickets specifically for official supporters’ groups. Critics, however, say the initiative falls short of tackling broader affordability issues.
FIFA has been notifying applicants since February 5 about the results of the second sales phase, which concluded in January.
A final “last-minute” sales window will be open from April through the end of the tournament, operating on a first-come, first-served basis.During official sales periods, FIFA employs a “variable pricing” model, in which ticket prices can fluctuate based on demand and availability for specific matches.
The organization emphasizes, however, that it does not use automatic dynamic pricing adjustments.
