The Commissioner of Police in Niger State, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, has officially decorated 414 officers who were recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II). The ceremony took place at the Command Headquarters in Dutsen-Kura, Minna, in the presence of senior officers, families, and invited guests.
Speaking on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the CP congratulated the officers and described their promotion as well deserved. He explained that they were part of over 26,000 inspectors across the country elevated by the Police Service Commission after a successful evaluation by the Departmental Selection Board.
CP Elleman emphasized that promotion comes with greater responsibility. He reminded the officers that their first two years as ASP II would serve as a probationary period, during which their conduct and performance would be closely monitored before confirmation to ASP I. He urged them to uphold discipline, professionalism, integrity, and accountability in their duties.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, ASP Sunday Hosea thanked the Police Service Commission, the Inspector General, and the state command for the opportunity. He assured the leadership of their continued commitment to serving the nation with dedication and improved performance.
