Gov Fubara dissolves State Executive Council in Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has officially dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect. The announcement was made on Thursday, bringing the tenure of commissioners and special advisers to an abrupt end.

Following the decision, all affected officials have been instructed to hand over their responsibilities to the permanent secretaries or the most senior officers within their respective ministries. The move is expected to ensure continuity in government operations while further steps are taken.

Governor Fubara thanked the outgoing council members for their contributions and service to the state. He also wished them success in their future endeavors, acknowledging their role in supporting his administration.

The development was confirmed in a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onwuka Nzeshi. Political observers say the dissolution could signal a fresh phase in the administration as Rivers State continues to navigate its evolving political landscape.
