EFCC Vs Yahaya Bello: Trial shifted to March 10 as witness maintains transactions breached no law

The ongoing trial involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has been postponed until March 10. The court fixed the new date after hearing testimony from a prosecution witness during the recent session.

During the proceedings, the witness maintained that the financial transactions under review did not violate any existing laws. According to the testimony presented in court, the transactions were carried out within approved procedures, challenging parts of the allegations raised in the case.

The adjournment means that both the prosecution and defence teams will return to court in March to continue arguments and further examination of witnesses. Legal observers say the next hearing could provide more clarity on the issues surrounding the case.

The trial remains one of the high-profile legal matters being closely watched across the country. As the proceedings continue, attention will remain on the court’s findings and the positions presented by both the EFCC and the defence team.
