Saudi Super League picks two players to replace Cristiano Ronaldo

The Saudi Pro League is already planning for life after Cristiano Ronaldo, with reports claiming the league has identified Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes as possible new global faces. Both Premier League stars are seen as strong options to keep the league attractive if Ronaldo leaves Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo has been the biggest name in the Saudi league since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022 after a long and successful career in Europe. Although he signed a lucrative contract extension in 2025, recent comments about a lack of support from club owners during the last transfer window have sparked talks about a possible exit this summer.

According to reports, Ronaldo’s deal includes a £43 million exit clause that becomes active at the end of the season. If he chooses to leave, league officials believe Salah or Fernandes would be perfect replacements. Salah, in particular, is viewed as a major draw due to his global popularity and strong connection with Arab and Muslim fans.

Speculation has grown after Ronaldo missed two recent league matches, raising questions about his future at Al-Nassr. Meanwhile, Salah continues to shine at Liverpool with over 250 goals since 2017, while Fernandes remains a key figure and captain at Manchester United, having scored more than 100 goals since arriving in 2020.
