Man arrested over unlawful possession of 4 human heads in Sagamu

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a man, Gafaru Rasaki, for unlawfully possessing four human heads in Sagamu. The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.

According to the statement, Rasaki was apprehended on January 21, 2026, by officers of the Shakura Division. During interrogation, he confessed to exhuming the human remains from a cemetery, an act that violates the law and shows blatant disregard for corpses.

Babaseyi explained that the recovered human heads were secured by the police, and the suspect was promptly charged to court following the conclusion of investigations. The police emphasized that such acts are serious offenses and will be dealt with strictly under the law.

The Ogun State Police urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help prevent similar crimes. The arrest highlights the police’s commitment to upholding the law and protecting communities from unlawful acts involving human remains.
