Lookman joined Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal from the Serie A club on Monday, marking a new chapter in his European career. Off the pitch, he says Nigerian music has always been an inspiration, with his favourite trio leading the Afrobeats scene globally.

Many members of the current Super Eagles squad also regularly mention Nigerian artists among their favourites. Players like Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Calvin Bassey, and Victor Osimhen frequently cite Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Rema, and Olamide as sources of motivation and entertainment.

Victor Osimhen, for instance, has previously shared that he listens to Olamide songs before matches to get pumped up. Lookman’s musical choices highlight how Nigerian artists continue to inspire not just fans but also top footballers representing the country abroad.
