Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that no politician from Southern Nigeria is better positioned to lead the country beyond 2027 than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He made this statement in Abuja while receiving a delegation of youth leaders from Northern Nigeria, drawn from all 19 northern states.

Ganduje dismissed claims that the North may oppose Tinubu’s second-term ambition, describing such views as misleading. He warned critics not to assume that northern voters would abandon the president in the next election, stressing that Tinubu still enjoys strong support across the region.

According to the former Kano State governor, President Tinubu stands out because of his deep political background and lifelong commitment to democratic values. He said Nigeria is fortunate to have a leader whose entire life has been shaped by politics and the struggle for democracy, noting that Tinubu believes strongly in the unity of the country.

Ganduje also recalled Tinubu’s role in the pro-democracy movement, including his time in exile during the military era. He added that Tinubu has been in office for less than four years but has already introduced major reforms aimed at improving Nigeria’s social and economic development, insisting that continuity in leadership would benefit the nation.
