How Tudun Biri village was reconstructed — Uba Sani

Governor Uba Sani has explained how Tudun Biri village in Kaduna State was rebuilt following the tragic accidental bombing of December 2023. He praised President Bola Tinubu for choosing the community as the first beneficiary of the Federal Government’s Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflicts. Speaking during the commissioning of key projects in Tudun Biri, the governor said the intervention reflects a development-focused approach to peacebuilding rather than reliance on security measures alone.

According to Governor Sani, the reconstruction delivered more than emergency relief. Modern homes were built alongside vital infrastructure such as a six-kilometre asphalt road, a Primary Healthcare Centre, a Skills Acquisition Centre, and other public facilities. He noted that Kaduna State worked closely with the Federal Government from the early days of the incident, ensuring that affected families were resettled within their community instead of being moved to IDP camps.

The governor explained that farmland used for the project was carefully managed through consultations with local farmers. Those affected were supported with agricultural inputs, empowerment programmes, and alternative livelihood options where needed. He added that beyond housing, the state focused on restoring livelihoods, healthcare, education, and economic activities to help the community fully recover and regain stability.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, who also spoke at the event, described the Tudun Biri Resettlement Scheme as a symbol of compassion and fairness in governance. He said similar projects are ongoing in other states affected by conflict, stressing that collaboration between federal and state governments was key to the success recorded in Tudun Biri. Both leaders agreed that the project stands as proof that inclusive development can heal communities affected by tragedy.
