Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has revealed that Burna Boy is her number one choice for a future music collaboration. The singer shared this during a Billboard interview with Love Island USA star, Chelley Bissainthe, while speaking about her excitement over her 2026 Grammy nomination.
Ayra Starr described the nomination as a reassuring moment in her career, noting how her mindset has evolved with time. She explained that while her first Grammy nomination felt overwhelming, the second one made her more confident in trusting herself and her journey. According to her, working with different artists has been rewarding, but collaborating with Burna Boy remains her biggest desire.
The singer also expressed gratitude for being a two-time Grammy nominee, saying it reflects growth and consistency in her music career. She added that while she remains open to working with more global and African artists, Burna Boy stands out as the one collaboration she truly hopes to achieve.
Ayra Starr earned her latest Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for the song “Gimme Dat” with Wizkid, released in April 2025. The nominations were announced in November 2025, ahead of the Grammy Awards ceremony scheduled for February 1, 2026.
