The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, has urged officers to strictly adhere to Nigeria Police Force regulations, emphasizing compliance with the NPF social media policy. Speaking at a strategic conference at the Police Officers Mess in Umuahia, Isa cited a recent case in Delta State where a sergeant was demoted for breaching social media rules.
CP Isa also reminded officers to remain neutral in political matters, warning against involvement in party activities. He directed Area Commanders and Division DPOs to report political incidents to him before taking any action, reinforcing the need for transparency and discipline in all operations.
The police chief cautioned against unlawful detention of suspects, extortion, drunkenness, illegal roadblocks, and unauthorized duties. Supervising officers were charged with monitoring their subordinates to prevent vicarious liability and ensure proper conduct across the command.
Isa commended officers for their service during the Christmas and New Year period, acknowledging their efforts in maintaining peace and security across Abia State. He encouraged all ranks to be professional, civil, and exemplary in their engagement with the public, upholding the positive image of the Nigeria Police Force.
