Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has provided a positive update on his squad ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Leeds United. The Gunners are heading into the game with confidence after their recent European outing and no fresh injury concerns have been reported.
Arteta confirmed that Arsenal did not pick up any new injuries following their 3-2 Champions League win over Kairat Almaty. Kai Havertz featured in that match, while defenders Jurrien Timber and William Saliba were given time off to manage their workload and avoid further physical strain.
Speaking on the situation, Arteta explained that both Saliba and Timber are fit and available. He noted that heavy minutes earlier in the season had caused minor issues for them, making the decision to rest them a necessary one. According to him, the short break has helped the players recover well.
The Arsenal boss also reassured fans about Kai Havertz, saying there were no problems with his knee after playing midweek. Arteta added that the club hopes Havertz will be ready to contribute as Arsenal look to maintain momentum in the league title race.
