The All Progressives Congress (APC) has solidified its dominance across Nigeria, now controlling 29 of the country’s 36 states. The party’s influence spans key regions, reflecting its continued political strength and consolidation since the last general elections.
In the South-South, APC holds all six states, including Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, and Bayelsa, achieving a clean sweep of the oil-rich region. The party also dominates the North-Central zone, governing Benue, Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Plateau states.
The South-East sees APC controlling Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo, while Abia is under the Labour Party and Anambra under APGA. In the South-West, APC leads in Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, and Ondo, with Oyo under PDP and Osun governed by the Accord Party.
The North-East and North-West further showcase APC strength, controlling four of six states in the North-East and six of seven in the North-West. Only Zamfara in the North-West, Adamawa, Bauchi, Abia, and Anambra are outside APC control, highlighting the party’s near-national dominance with 29 states under its governance.
