Kano Govt rebukes Buba Galadima over Yusuf’s second-term prospects

The Kano State Government has reacted strongly to comments credited to elder statesman Buba Galadima concerning the chances of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf securing a second term in office. The government described the remarks as misleading and unnecessary, saying they do not reflect the political reality in the state.

In a statement issued by the state government, officials said Governor Yusuf remains focused on governance and service delivery rather than political speculation. They stressed that performance, not personal opinions, will determine the governor’s political future, adding that the administration is confident in its growing support across Kano.

The government further accused Galadima of trying to stir political tension with statements that could confuse party supporters and the general public. According to the statement, Yusuf’s administration enjoys backing from key stakeholders and grassroots supporters who are satisfied with ongoing reforms and development projects.

Reaffirming its position, the Kano State Government urged political actors to engage in constructive dialogue instead of making comments that could heat up the political space. It added that discussions about a second term should be left for the appropriate time, while the governor continues to focus on fulfilling his mandate to the people of Kano State.
