Kano LG chair Sa’adatu Soja resigns from NNPP, discloses reasons 

The Executive Chairperson of Tudun Wada Local Government Area in Kano State, Hon. Sa’adatu Salisu Soja MaiJamaa, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). She announced her decision in a resignation letter dated Friday, January 23, 2026, which was addressed to the party leadership in Tudun Wada Local Government.

In the letter made available to journalists, Sa’adatu explained that her resignation was based on political alignment. She said her action was taken to follow the political direction of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, whom she described as her leader. According to her, loyalty and shared vision played a major role in her decision to leave the party.

The local government chairperson added that her move was carefully considered and aimed at supporting the development agenda of Kano State. She noted that aligning with the governor’s political path would enable her to better contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives that would benefit the people at the grassroots level.

Despite her exit, Sa’adatu expressed gratitude to the NNPP leadership and members for their support throughout her time in the party. She appreciated the cooperation she received and formally confirmed the end of her membership, stating that the decision was taken in good faith and with respect for the party.
