Nasarawa ADC crisis deepens as chieftain condemns suspension of state chairman

A Nasarawa State chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Muhammad Bose, has criticised the recent suspension of the party’s state chairman, Godwin Alaku Williams, calling the move unjust, poorly timed, and harmful to party unity. Bose argued that the suspension, coming just before the party congress, undermines internal democracy and could create further divisions.

Bose rejected claims of anti-party activities against Williams, pointing out that party members often supported different candidates in the last general election without being accused of disloyalty. He emphasised that suspending a leader without a proper process is an injustice that could weaken the party’s cohesion and future prospects.

The ADC chieftain warned that repeated internal suspensions and leadership crises have historically damaged political parties. He drew parallels with similar conflicts in other parties, noting that purges and arbitrary suspensions often leave lasting negative impacts on party structure and credibility.

While stressing that his stance was based on principle rather than personal loyalty, Bose urged the ADC leadership to reconsider their decision. He expressed deep concern over the suspension and called for fair and transparent processes within the party to ensure unity and trust among members.
